Yesterday I was on this board asking about Process start-up and how I can get rid of some of them so my load up isn't so slow. Here is the thread:

Well everything was running fine yesterday, even after I deleted some start-up applications.

I started up my PC this morning and have been having some serious speed issues with my PC. Loading very very slow. I thought it could have been a voltage problem so I posted in the hardware forum this morning:

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=150881

Some of the gentlemen over there told me that a voltage could possibly NOT be the problem and that my system could be running slow because of something I did yesterday.

Could someone please help me in a process to make sure that everything that should be running, is in-fact running. I could have possbily deleted something yesterday that has affected my PC speed.

Yesterday I purchased a new 8500gt card and everything was working great. I did the 3Dmark03 test and got 9056. I did it today and got a 5516. Huge difference is performance and speed. Thanks in advance.

I might add before I get off for the night. I tried a restore point for my PC, after it was complete and rebooted my PC tower just made a beep sound, screen went black for about 1 second, reloaded but with colors all weird. I could still see the boarders and picture of everything, but the colors were all messed up. I hit the restart button, then right before it logged off the colors when back to normal.

What is wrong with my PC:cry

I would start with a System Restore (before the changes). Hopefully, that will get you right again. Then check out this list on what services you can change.

If you have Vista there are links there to look into.

I did the system restore point for last week and it resaulted in the above action (post before yours, after my first). As for the processes, I do not know what to look for :( . I apologize, I shouldn't have been messing with the start-up's in the first place. Big mistake on my part that can hopefully be reversed.

If the restore point was saved before you installed the drivers for your new video card, you won't have any drivers installed. It's possible windows is reverting to the standard video card drivers. Or maybe even the drivers that were installed before you got your new video card.

I just reviewed Blackvipers page and compared my processes with what he has going on. I changed some minor processes to match. I will restore, then download the drive update via the internet and see if that restore point with new driver dload helps.

I should mention. My PC is working, it does go pretty quick, however there is a lack of performance. When I boot up windows, the bar along the bottom of the screen has blue boxes for just about 2 seconds where the start/quick launch/ and task manager tray is. I notice little things like that. Lacking in performance that is.

I know something is wrong. The performance has dropped dramatically since two days ago. I don't get it, I have checked the processes. I restored to a point last week, way before installing the new card, said nothing had changed (I had another geforce card that required the same max driver patch for all). Thinks load slower, icons show up slower. PC games and benchmark tests are slower. However the first day everything was really really quick. I don't know what to do.

Starting new threads isn't helping anyone.

I went with you one change of thread I'm not doing it again.

IRQ conflict? It usually jams the system while your process % is low. I have seen this happen before and the problem was a conflict between graphic card and the wifi.
