    Hi, I seem to have infected my Mums computer with the Medfos.B and also maybe the Zbot.gem!AJ malware.

    I've tried removing it using MSE and Malwarebytes but no joy.

    Please help.

    Attached are the usual requested logs.

    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button
    Now click the Registry tab and locate these detections:

    • [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKCU\[...]\Run : Sataece (C:\Users\PATRICIA\AppData\Roaming\Vifa\yhar.exe) [-] -> FOUND
      [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKCU\[...]\Run : sesndp ("C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe" "C:\Users\PATRICIA\AppData\Roaming\sesndp.dll",FileEx) [7] -> FOUND
      [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKLM\[...]\Run : sesndp ("C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe" "C:\Users\PATRICIA\AppData\Roaming\sesndp.dll",FileEx) [7] -> FOUND
      [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKUS\S-1-5-21-3799774143-3084211146-1279177388-1000[...]\Run : Sataece (C:\Users\PATRICIA\AppData\Roaming\Vifa\yhar.exe) [-] -> FOUND
      [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKUS\S-1-5-21-3799774143-3084211146-1279177388-1000[...]\Run : sesndp ("C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe" "C:\Users\PATRICIA\AppData\Roaming\sesndp.dll",FileEx) [7] -> FOUND

    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.
    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)

    Reboot and rescan with RogueKiller and attach that new log as well.

    Then run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). Attach the new C:\MGLogs.zip.

    Hi again, after running RogueKiller I didn't get all the registry entries you listed. I did get these two though

    [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKLM\[...]\Run : sesndp ("C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe" "C:\Users\PATRICIA\AppData\Roaming\sesndp.dll",FileEx

    and

    [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKUS\S-1-5-21-3799774143-3084211146-1279177388-1000[...]\Run : sesndp ("C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe" "C:\Users\PATRICIA\AppData\Roaming\sesndp.dll",FileEx

    I did as you said and deleted them.

    Attached are the new logs you asked for.

    Your logs are clean. What issues remain, if any?

    Things seem pretty much back to normal now but I do have a shortcut on the desktop to System Care Antivirus.
    This shortcut appeared when I first caught the malware which makes me think it may be something nasty.

    Any advice on this?

    Thankyou very much for your help you have been wonderful.

    Just delete the link on your desktop.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 4 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
      related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link
