Need help removing Startpage.16.m

    I have read "How to: Spyware, Trojan and Virus Removal" and have tried the step-by-step process but have run into many problems. Here is a list of the problems.

    Problem 1: When I try to run "services.msc" I get a message that "Windows Cannot Fine". No, I did not type in the quotes.

    Problem 2: I cannot download SpywareBlaster. I get the following message: "This program has been damaged possibly by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus. Please reinstall it." I have reinstalled it several times without success.

    Problem 3: When trying to download and run about.Buster, I get a message that the date base is either corrupted or missing.

    Problem 4: When I booted the computer in "safe" mode there is no option for "networking support" so I can't get online. Therefore, I went back to "normal" mode.

    Problem5: I tried to do an online scan at Trend Micro's Free Online Virus Scan and received the following message: Unable to fun because another House Call is running. We have two computers in the house, and I was able to run this scan on the other computer, but can't get it to work on this computer.

    So even though I tried to go through all the steps faithfully, I couldn't before contacting you. I have a Dell computer with the OS being Windows ME.

    Can you help?

    The READ ME tells you that step is only for WinNT, 2K or XP.

    I think you mean you cannot install SpywareBlaster not download SpywareBlaster. What version of SpywareBlaster. Try installing in safe mode.

    I think you mean you cannot run About:Buster not download it. Did you put About:Buster in its own folder with no other programs.

    This option should be possible on Win Me so I'm not sure why you cannot see it.

    Are you sure the scan on the other computer had finished before starting this one?
