I just recently just rebooted my moms laptop to get all of my junk off it so she could have her's back.

But every thing is working but the wireless printer.I am tech savvy but i can not seem to get this to work no matter what i do.I even printed out the HP Network configuration page and every thing seems to be fine. Her desktop seems to work fine with the printer it is connected wireless all so.

And i want my new laptop with windows 10 64 bit home to work as well no matter what i try it comes up empty.

First install screen comes up says??? How are you going to connect to the printer to your computer.

Three selections Wireless which is what i want. Two USB and three Connect later.

I click on wireless since i need it to be a wireless printer.Than it checks for Checking network environment and nothing pops up but a second page.

1 Press the wireless button on the front of the printer to (see image on the right). Done that

2 What status do you see at the top of wireless information screen displayed on the printer.

    1. I see a status as not connected or wireless off (or i am not sure)
    2. I see the status is connected and the signal strength.

IT would be number 2 option since i do see all of it on the paper i printed out.

And it ask for the Ip address(or hostname) which i have tried both and still no go.

Any ideas here i am at a loss Be cause it will say on the next page Unable to retrieve computers network name. And yes there is a pass code on the wireless router.

Sometimes you have to power off and then power on the router to reset it.

It is a stand alone printer wireless.

I have tried that all ready on the printer and still nothing.

Hold the phone, you said "It is a stand alone printer wireless." then you said "And yes there is a pass code on the wireless router. " So what setup are you trying? Are you joining the printer to the router's wireless or going ad-hoc - connecting the laptop directly to the printer's wifi?

I never said anything about USB, I asked if you are connecting the printer to your routers wifi or are you connecting the computer to the printers wifi.
read "Wireless with a router (infrastructure network)" or "WiFi Direct and HP wireless direct"

Was the laptop connected via USB before? You'll need to fix the printer port.

Another suggestion download the latest software and reinstall it.
