    Hi,

I've been noticing that my notebook is getting very slow in some instances.
I don't have that many heavy applications (just MS Office; Skype; MSN; Norton; Nero); HD is 75% free, formated HD 3 months ago, but still i'm stalling everytime when i open skype or nero...
I've been through every step from the "READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support" and only found problems at the online scans Bitdefender and Panda ActiveScan. Every other application found 0 problems.
Please check those reports and also the HiJack log file

    Thanks in advance,

    Tiago

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

You logs do not show any active problems but you System Restore folder is holding onto some old problems. One of them is known to slow down networks. I doubt it is your problem since it is not active, but do the below!

go back to step 1 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points. Then reboot! And run a new Bitdefender online scan and attach the results here.

Then enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    Hi,

    Done what you told...
Bitdefender didn't find any problem, but panda scan found 3 more...
I've attached the result and the new HJT log. Check it out please!! :)

Don't know if this is a dumb doubt or not, but here it goes...
I believe my notebook has a hidden partition from where i can reinstall my OS. Is it possible that that partition is infected and it doesn't show up in the scans ??? Should I try smth else?? Should I eliminate that partition? :)

    Thanks,

    Tiago

Panda did not find anything but cookies. Cookies are nothing to be concerned with.

You problems are more than likely not malware and more than like due to various software you are running. Norton can be a tremendous resource hog. Try stopping it from loading by using MSconfig to disable all Symantec/Norton processes and services. Then reboot ant tell me if system still seems slow. NOTE: DO NOT remain running for very long with your antivirus disabled like this.

    Other things to try:
    1) Uninstall unecessary software, especially things like Toolbars unless you absolutely cannot live without them.

    2) Have HJT fix the below non-malware items but they are not needed:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Programas\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
    O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Programas\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE
