need help to fix short cut photos

ok i need help my wife transfered some pictures from an sd card to our pc then she wiped the card but the pics on the pc are short cuts not pictures and there is no pics on the card to retrieve from the short cut how can i turn the short cuts back into photos or change the short cut file into the photo i tried to get the photos back from the card but could not get them to come back can anyone help these pics are special they are of my daughter make a wish trip and cannot be replaced thank you for any help you can give

 

the card has been deleted, so the shortcuts are useless. you can however try to recover whatever information can be got from the card. there are many free recovery programs to look at. I'm particular to recuva:

most all of them work the same. when you run the program, select the drive letter for the card reader and let the program locate recoverable files.

 

i will try it again since the card was reused i am not sure what i will get off it but thanks for the info
