Need help tracking a stolen/lost Android phone

Hello,

Let me begin with a little context; I go to a youth group and this last weekend we had a retreat with new people joining the group. On Saturday, my friend left her phone on a table on the mess hall and after that we don't know were it went. We tried calling it but the phone was on silent mode and when calling it went directly to the voice mail.

We believe somebody has it because this event was outside of the city for 3 days, so there was no external people.

So, from what my friend told me is that she tried to track it via her computer (I think like the apple ID with the iphone) but the GPS on the phone is deactivated so no luck there. She also told me that she left her Instagram, snapchat, school email and I think whatsapp open on the phone.

Is it possible to track this phone with the information above or what else is needed? I only know how to track an Apple product, but have no experience on Android. Could you guys assist on this issue?

Hi

If the suggestion that plodr mentions in the Android Device Manager doesnt help as the GPS could be off as you mention, I would see if her phone company can help as they should be able to track the phone from the number or the IMSI number of the phone, your friend may need to look at any paperwork or the original box for this ISMI number as its unique to a phone, the likelihood is she may not get the phone back but with an ISMI number the phone company may be able to wipe the phone of all data so whoever has it cannot access private info.
