I downloaded and re-installed Folder Vault after wiping and reloading my system with windows 7.
I can't get it to accept the purchase key, and can't uninstall it.
Inorder to uninstall you need to do it from within the program under the advanced features button. Anytime the advanced button is pressed, the FV pop up screen disappears. It doesn't close or lock the vault, just goes away.
The vault is still accessible through explorer etc.

I have emailed their support, and posted on their support group, but have recieved no response.

I have removed all files from FVs folder, and now just want to remove it.

What can I do to remove this from my system?

If I unlock it and delete all files in it's directory, what else do I need to remove?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

    Hi

What was your previous Windows version? just curious as if it was Windows XP it may link to a potential fix for this is running Folder vault from an admin point of view, and to do this with the shourtcut to FV, right click it and choose Run as Administrator and see if you can uninstall then.

Possible alternate is to run Revo Uninstaller from either normal mode or Safe Mode (F8 at boot)

I was running on XP before, to test the trial to see if I liked it.
After upgrading to 7 I purchased the program, and installed it, but it seemd to have some issues shutting down. (file not found, error closing messages)
Due to a problem (not related) that bricked the system, I had to reload everything. Now I can't get it to re-accept the purchased key, and can't get a responce from support. I also can't access some of the functions or uninstall using their uninstall.
I tried running with the run as admin with no change.
Perhaps if I installed using admin, or under run as XP, but it's supposed to be 7 compatible, and I can't uninstall this instance of the program to try loading a different way.
At this point I am assuming I can delete everything with the vault "open" and all I may be left with are some unused registy entries or hidden files.

What about Halo's suggestion to try Revo?

Looks like the best option to me too.

Downloaded it and noticed it says for XP/2K or 2003.
Is there a version that works with windows 7?

Never mind, I see on there web site the current version is 7 compatible.

Just take care only to delete the bold items, or trouble will ensue ;)

    No joy on this one.
Message comes back "no install package found" and says to try and uninstall manually.

What do you mean "Delete only the Bold items"?

Well, it can only uninstall things which have previously been installed, so it does look as though the install of FV failed. Maybe try installing FV again 'over the top', and then trying Revo again.

When Revo presents what it has found, some items are shown in bold. They are the only ones it thinks safe to remove.
