Ok, so for the past day or two, Internet Explorer has been popping up randomly with "your computer is severly infected, download virus scanner so and so" and a few other things. I ran my AV program, and got rid of the viruses and such that it found, and ran my anti spy program too, since its all together. I cleared things ot, yet still, my windows defender found a Win32/Killav.DV and i dunno if thats the cause of it. But Im getting tired of IE popping p when i dont want it to and such.

I am pretty sure you have virus or spyware of some sort on your computer. Anyways Id suggest going to malware section of forums. And doing the Read and Run http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 Its to get your computer updated, clean some things, and scan your computer with the programs. After that make sure you make a post in that malware section of forums and post all logs needed! People just run the scans says thanks it fix and leave! When really there can be stuff in the background they don't see. SO post all logs let them do it for ya. Thanks

Yes but the stuff in the Read and Run will tell some more stuff behind the scene to them. Like say you just go to 1 thing and get rid of it when the scans show it place in other folders. So later on your still really infected.. I just suggest running them. Atleast it will get your computer clean and you know it will be totally clean.

@ Artha_Penn Following what Silas advised would be the wise thing to do. Post up your logs after running the tools, and be patient in waiting for a response as we work threads in malware removal on an oldest to newest basis. :)

This sounds like a problem i had a few weeks ago. I couldnt find an anti virus or maleware program to remove it. I forget exactly what it was called, something like pc healthcheck. When IE comes up its wanting you to buy some kind of antivirus program right? Search the name of that program on bing and you will find ways to remove it manually. Hope this helps.

pulk9, the names change and there are thousands of bogus antivirus programs out there that popup an error "your computer is infected".
You close the browser and popup from the taskbar, not from a popup window.
Then you go to the malware section and start running scans.

Eventually, you decide that IE with activex is too big a security risk and you switch to another browser.
