Need Help with desktop settings...

I ran "TweeKing.com" carefuly and did not select display or internet. It did indeed make the system much quicker. The computer was defraged using "smart defrag.com, the hard drive was cleaned etc. The system is running great.
When I boot up now the screen says "prepairing your desktop" which takes several seconds then loads it just as it should be. What changes in settings do I have to make so the desktop just loads as it always did before?
