need help with extraction path

ok this might seem like a realy basic question but where does a .sfx archive extract to if you click the extract to temporery folder option?

i need to know for an installer idea im trying to make for capying a mod into a game

 

Should be under your Local Settings\Temp.

But why would you extract a programs to there, or are you referring to a download of a progrram?

To make it easier, you can always "save" rather than "run" a program to your desktop. Then you can click on the icon created to "run", which is really extract, the program and it will install itself properly.

Then delete the original downloaded file to keep your desktop clean.

no see a game i play you can mode badges and things so i was making a portable exe installer using a maix of a batch file and sfx archive which houses the files of the mod but i found another solution now i just need to find a way to wipe out a folder while keeping the folder intact using a batch file so i kinda forgot to close out this topic
