Are these all your own personal PCs? Or are you running a business and having us do your work for you?

After the number of threads you have started already, you should now know that ALL of the logs need to be attached and that you need to describe the malware problems. In addition by now you should know that combofix.exe is not supposed to be located at c:\combofix.exe and that it is not supposed to be named combofix.exe. It needs to be on the Desktop, it needs to be named cf.exe and it needs to be run following the instructions that were previously given in the READ ME using the Start Run box which was to paste in the below command

    "%userprofile%\desktop\cf.exe" /killall

    But now read below.

Attach the SUPERAntispyware log and describe your remaining malware problems. Also please observe that the READ ME has currently changed and ComboFix has been removed from it due to possible problems appearing with it lately that may be causing PCs to become unbootable.

I personally have twelve that I have up and running, eleven at home one at work, six of them run windows in some form all others run other operating systems. I got into this in computer hobby in 1995 had no help and no training, except from people like you and your website. I have had a problem here of late with my programs no responding or opening and not completing their task. I try to burn dvds they get to the end of process and they just hang. I have been communicating with timw and I was using the combofix and mgtools and everything was going well I just bothched this one up somehow as I was wanting to run a scan on my e partition of a computer that is already in a thread I just didn’t reply I started a new thread by mistake. You have been doggin’ me pretty hard on a couple of threads here, have I done something wrong? Are you mad at me? I am new to your site .A guy from a news group told me about this site. Should I not be here? If I ran a business I would know more than I do and would not have to ask such things of you guys. I am at a loss. Four of my computers all at the same time have done this same thing, Including the one at work. Tim w got my laptop straight and one of my desktops working again. I told tim w that I had other machines, he said no problem just let us know that they are different and we will help. He has been very polite and I in return have always thanked him and have been polite in return. I have printed off the new read me pages And I will try to post everything the correct way. Thank you -juntuo

Okay this is good to know.

Frequently issues like this are not due to malware.

Okay but as you stated you should have posted in that thread. Also note that you cannot run ComboFix on a particular partition. The instructions are very specific and state install it on your Desktop. This is required!!! It only scans your Windows boot drive which is where your user account Desktop will be. It will not look at other partitions. What you put on your Desktop is a link:

    C:\Documents and Settings\wig\Desktop\cf.exe.lnk

    This not what we requested.

No I'm not mad at you.:) Sorry if it came off that way. We are extremely busy and get uptight/short at times. And we need to have instructions followed. You were not following instructions for using combofix even though you have gone thru this multiple times. We need the instructions to be followed the first time. We don't have time to waste reposting the same instructions over and over (not just for you but for dozens of other users). It just gets on our nerves at times especially when overtired and this busy. I don't want to make excuses. but I have been working a real job at about 12 to 14 hrs per day and then I have been adding 4 to 6 hrs (and some times much more) per day here. You can see how much sleep I.m not getting. ;) Sorry about this, but at times we can get a little jumpy.

In addition, current instructions in the READ ME have removed ComboFix since recently it started making some PCs unbootable. So take care to refer to the current online version of the READ ME.

No this is just fine. :) It is just that we have had several users come here who were running a business and having us do all their work for them for free and that is not acceptable to us unless they are doing the repairs for free and need guidance. When some one posts for 1 to 3 PCs, it does not stand out too much. But after 3 it starts to raise questions as to what is going on. ;) You would be surprised at how many people running businesses or even supposed IT Professionals that do not know what they should know about fixing these problems.

So all of the above being said, are the logs in this thread for a new PC or are they for one you have already been working on? Either way, there is no malare in the attached logs.

You're welcome, but I still need to know is this the same PC you were already working on with Tim? If so, you should just continue to work in the thread you have with Tim. As I stated the logs that you did post in the first message here were clean.

Yes it is. no malware, and on software side people replied, But with no success on my end. The suggestions that I got I had already performed. I thought maybe I still had some nagging malware that wouldn't go away. I have read some of the threads where you are talking with people and have used a couple of things you had posted ( thanks by the way! ) I am learning a lot but just cannot seem to get this one problem fixed. No changes in programs other than removing combofix per Tim's instructions and installing malwarebites. Sorry to babble, just at a loss. juntuo

Personally I have hated Roxio since they were in the Adaptec Easy CD Creator days. When they change to Roxio, I had about 1 or two updates with them and finally got fed up with all the issues they always had and dumped it. They were famous for coasters. ;) I installed Nero way back in time and have never looked back.

Yes, roxio is the dumping kind of program. nero has always been very stable and I have very little problem with it. I really like the fabdvd platinum too. Thanks for the advice I think I will remove roxio and see if maybe there is a conflict in burning programs. Thanks, juntuo
