Need help with Office XP Small Business

First of all, my install of XP and SP 2 were pretty much flawless. The puter is working great.
I did all scans from spyware thread, and restarted, and tried to load Office XP.
First, it told me that there was a problem with office1.cab, which was either a damaged disk, corrupt file or something else.
It then displayed another error message; error 2350
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling; same prob.

Oh well, everything else works great. I'll check back later for any replies.

Is your CD scratched or dirty?

You think I'd have tried that first, but at 4 am last night my brain was pretty much on autopilot.....I'm going to run the Office XP disk through my scratch cleaner and see what happens.....

Incidentally, I had the same prob with my XP disk; I keep getting corrput installs even when the disk was brand new from Microsoft.

I couldn't use the SPII disk for same reason-too many probs trying to install-but the download of SP2 went fine.

Now, my office XP disk might be f-d up.

I would suspect my CD drive, except I haven't had this prob with any non-Microsoft disks, and none of my audio CD's are damaged either. My Mobo drivers ran without a hitch, and in fact XP went great after I ran it through my scratch cleaner...

I'm putting this out there in case anyone else seems to have a lot of probs with Microsoft's disks.....
