Need help with Screen 17.3 HP Model # and make

I broke my screen on my new Laptop. HP will not warranty the screen because it was my fault so they are shipping it back to me because I will not pay them $350 for a new screen.

If anybody has this following model and has it apart, can they please give me the model # and make of the screen? I want to get one on order and still have to wait to get it back from HP.

I haven't taken a laptop apart for years so I can't give any technical details.

519296-001 for white
519260-001 for black

Shopping by those numbers gives 1600x900 resolution but it may support 1920x1080. You can check that pdf more closely to see if that is the part you are looking to replace.

 

A technician from the following website is saying this should be the correct one and it does make perfect sense. I asked to provide a pin connector extension just in case.

The part # HP gave me for exact replacement is 681991-001 so probabky not

 

Sorry, I did give you the wrong number. I plugged your B6B77AV into HP and got the correct service manual. It does show that model number they gave you.

I'm not finding many choices. I guess the notebook is too new for many places to have the part. Sounds like they are all just going to order from HP and then forward it to you.

I hope you or someone else has better luck than I did. Or someone with more technical knowledge can help you with finding a suitable non-OEM replacement.

 

It is very new. When I ordered it I just missed the cut off for windows 7 and ended up with 8.

by far the nicest most powerful lap top i have had. 12 gig memory and the 2.7 GHZ I7 processor.

my 3 yo got hold of it but its my fault for leaving it on the couch.

what do you think about that one in the link? hopefully others can chime in before i decide to buy it
