need help

recently got an Acer L320 from a friend, problem was it wasn't being picked up by a montior.

so i opened it up and attach photo's is what is seen inside of it. the lights all work, battery works, fans work but still unsure why it isn't picked up by monitor

any help is v. much appreciated, im not the smartest with computers so if possible step by step on what to do

 

that is a symptom typical of a faulty motherboard, ram, among others. are you getting any beeps during bootup? try disconnecting all drives and play around with any combination of sticks of ram. try one at a time, in different slots. It's hard to really narrow it down. thats a small form factor computer, it's possible that it has overheated one too many times.

 

yeah, getting a tainted click noise every 5 seconds. tryed play around with ram in different slots, no joy.

im unsure if it was overheated before, just got it from a friend and unsure what hes done with it :S thanks for the help btw

 

click? could be a faulty hard drive. That doesnt usually keep it from booting up, but I've seen it happen once. did you disconnect the drive(s)?

it will tell you what the sound means.
and you will know were is the problem that prevents the machine from booting
