I cannot find a download for JKDefrag for Win98SE. I know, I know---I need to update to at least WinXP, but I can't just yet. ;-0 So, does anyone have a link that I can use for JKDefrag, working on Win98SE? I have had it on the computer before, but it appears to have been removed w/o my knowledge. thanks for your prompt help and attention. :)

    Hi

Did you ever have a version of this that worked with Windows 98 as the windows API used for this application and defrag was never implmented in Windows 98 ( even though some websites which have this for download wrongly state it does ) maybe just try the latest version and see if it works.

Cannot think of alternative to use at present.

Yes, I did have an application of it that worked on my Windows98SE, because I've actually used it many times before, and I'm just not sure what happened to it. Until recently when I received a 'very small RAM' comp from a friend that has XP on it, I've never even worked with the XP format before.
    So, yes, I did. thanks~

Thanks for the recommendation of Diskeeper Lite. I had finally found that yesterday and was finally able to defrag this comp. (which, with alot of changes we've had going on in our household's activities the past few months, it's no wonder the program stated, after analyzing it, that our comp was heavily fragmented. I think that that might be why I wasn't able to open the Diskeeper08 that I'd originally downloaded to try.)
And, yes, I must have been mistaken. I see now that JKDefrag wasn't made to work on 98, though I do know I've used it on others' comps that I've gone over to help 'fix'. I guess I was just familiar with that program that way. I did finally discover an older version of Diskeeper 'hidden' in my comp somewhere, as it had expired. I think that that's probably the one I've used on this one in the past.
Thanks for all of your help here. I was finally successful in defragging. :)

I have recently set up an old Gateway 310S with 98SE to use as an experimental machine, so this issue was still fresh in my mind.
