    I am running process of removing the malware with the steps. And I have been trying to run the RootRepeal program, and a white bar shows up that says "Initializing, please wait...." and it just sits there for hours and does nothing. And it is also using up a TON of CPU btw. :(

    Then as the instructions state, if one step does not work, skip it and move on. ;)

    I got it runnng, but when I went to do the scan it says "RootRepeal Error, FOPS - DeviceIoControl Error! Error Code = 0xc0000001 Extended Info (0x000000fc)"

    Anything I can do about that?

    Rootrepeal only has a 50-50 chance of running anyway. As I said.... move on.

    I am having trouble running combofix, and as I said I could not run root repeal as well. So that's why I don't have logs for those.

    How do things look for me? Are there any next steps?

    Uninstall SUPERANTIspyware because it has not been installed properly for some reason. Do not attempt to reinstall it yet. Plus it was outdated anyway.

    Unless you paid for these, please uninstall them.
    • Uniblue DriverScanner
    • Uniblue PowerSuite
    • Uniblue RegistryBooster
    • Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC

    If you did not deliberately set this proxy yourself then please include it in our list of HJT fixables below:

    • R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:60909

    -----------------------------

    • R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:60909
    • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BigFix] c:\program files\Bigfix\bigfix.exe /atstartup
    • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
    • O2 - BHO: Java(tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper - {DBC80044-A445-435b-BC74-9C25C1C588A9} - (no file)

    What are these files, do you know? They have dates of 27th July 2011 if that helps?
    • C:\{171C88F2-AAB8-4061-8EBD-BCEE2A7ED51F}
    • C:\{217FE675-8C40-4276-B9FF-07CC114D8E3A}
    • C:\{402AC059-A76D-475F-945C-BC28FCC8936A}
    • C:\{CD1E0857-6287-433E-B8E7-8B4AA07D4F4B}

    Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    I want you to run TDSSKiller so refer to the below for how to do so.

    TDSSkiller - How to run

    Please also download MBRCheck to your desktop
    • Double click MBRCheck.exe to run (vista and Win 7 right click and select Run as Administrator)
    • It will show a Black screen with some information that will contain either the below line if no problem is found:
      • Done! Press ENTER to exit...
    • Or you will see more information like below if a problem is found:
      • Found non-standard or infected MBR.
      • Enter 'Y' and hit ENTER for more options, or 'N' to exit:
    • Either way, just choose to exit the program at this point since we want to see only the scan results to begin with.
    • MBRCheck will create a log named similar to MBRCheck_07.16.10_00.32.33.txt which is random based on date and time.

    Now go to this MGTools and download the new version of MGtools.exe. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one. Now run the NEW C:\MGTools.exe and attach the new C:\MGLogs.zip.

    I am sorry, but I do not know what those files you talked about are. This computer has collected so much junk due to multiple users. Also many full backups of the system been on this computer which I recently moved off of here.(If that matters at all)

    The scan was clean, and the FIXme.reg worked. I uninstalled the programs you said. But I did not understand what you meant with this "HJT fixables"

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:60909
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BigFix] c:\program files\Bigfix\bigfix.exe /atstartup
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)

    Delete these files.
    C:\{171C88F2-AAB8-4061-8EBD-BCEE2A7ED51F}
    C:\{217FE675-8C40-4276-B9FF-07CC114D8E3A}
    C:\{402AC059-A76D-475F-945C-BC28FCC8936A}
    C:\{CD1E0857-6287-433E-B8E7-8B4AA07D4F4B}

    Did you deliberately set up to use a proxy server?? The one below?

    If not then please do this:

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    Do not do the next step below until you have done all the above.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    How are things running, Gumshoe?

    The computer still runs slow, but that might just be from all the random junk on this system. rolleyes

    Also one of the windows updates comes up with an error when I try to update. It's Error Code 80070103

    That's about it. So as long as the system is virus free, it should work well for what it's used for.....

    I apologize for re-post. But I just realized that I did not run the TDSSKiller requested properly. :-o

    It now found 3 things that it could not cure, so I just skipped.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required (If we renamed it please rename it back to Combofix.exe.
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
      related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
        for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
