Need mouhid.sys

Hello, I need mouhid.sys to install an external mouse on my emachine. Anyone have a good link without pop-ups and BS? I downloaded the keyboard driver from another post, works like a champ! Thanks, Tom

 

What Windows version?
You may have some backup file on your computer.
Do you have Windows disk?

The file mouhid.sys should be under C:\windows\System32\Drivers.

However, if you are unable to find the mouhid.sys file, the same should also be located on the Windows XP disc. I would recommend you to arrange for a Windows XP disc which corresponds to the same edition as installed on your machine.

You may use the expand command to put the file back on the machine.

a. Click on Start > Run, type ‘cmd’ in the open box. Right click on cmd in the Program list and then select the option Run as administrator.

b. In command prompt, type the following command:

expand <CD drive>:\i386\mouhid.sy_ c:\windows\system32\drivers\mouhid.sys

c. Close the command prompt.
