I am looking for some help choosing a new video card or should I overclock the one I have? I know there are cards that are way too much for my system, so I am looking for something that would match my system.

    AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2700+ 2.2 GHz
    SAPPHIRE RADEON 9200SE ATLANTIS 128MB Driver 6.14.10.6467
    NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio Driver 6.14.348.0
    Dual 512 ram. (1gig)
    Raid HD's
Windows Xp Pro SP1 (yeah still)

Not sure what else would matter. Basically what video card would be a good match for an AMD XP 2700+.

Any video card you want. The 2700+ is not going to hold any current video card back. (except maybe the new X800s and 6800s) It just depends on how much you want to spend. IMO, the Radeon 9800 Pro is the best bang for the buck right now. Last I checked you can get a Radeon 9800 Pro and Half-Life 2 for $219.
Well, it's $225 now, but still a good deal.

your current card is not worht the hassle to overclock, passive heatsink and a crippled 4 pipeline engine. Suggest replacing it, a 9800 would do you right. If you don't want to spend that much then look at an older 9600. Of course, there's always ebay too.

I just upgraded to a 9800 Pro and have a Built by ATI Radeon 9600XT I want to sell. It is stock 500 MHz core and 600 MHz memory and will do 580 core and 634 memory. It has a Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer and copper RAM sinks. I am asking $125.00. I have all the cables and everything that goes with it.

You shouldnt link him to a crappy outdated passive heat sink card since his system is geared towards a higher end card...

But for the setup you have JoeBean you can go for 150$ 9600xt or a 200$ 9800pro/ 5950xt; anything higher your gonna lose performance off the card.

Great thanks alot for all your help guys, it gives me some options to look at. I am going to start comparing those with pricing and will let you all know what I settled on. Anyone knew viewing this thread, pls tell me what you think the best video card you think for my system.
    :)

seems like the 9800 pro is the way to go from what I am seeing here.
