Need simple DVD player..

I just need a simple dvd player.. This computer use to have XP media center edition 2005 but i was forced into a reinstall by a driver failure. Well i could not find one of the compaq restore disks so i just used my XP home SP2 disk and the new key i had with it to do the install but now i don't have media center to watch my dvds.. I have tried windows media player but some reason its cutting off the right side of the video so its out..

 

Don't know how simple you want, but I prefer KMPlayer, open the program, right click on screen, go to Open, and name your poison, file, folder, url, DVD, Video CD, etcetera.

 

I never recommend anything other than VLC Media Player. This might especially fit the bill if by "simple" you mean "minimalistic".

 

I really miss Media Center Is there anyway i can get it?

 

Haven't tried it myself, but Microsoft has an upgrade path laid out on their website.

Did you try Compaq support? They may be able to send you a restore CD, for a fee most likely.
