Can anyone suggest a simple pc of freeware to change the colors of the desktop folder icons? I'm not sure if I want to experiment to the extent that I spend more time fixing my mistakes, tho! I just want some color to help visually separate some of the folders.

    Win98SE...

    Thanks!
    :)

Re: ...software ...folder colors UPDATE FYI

I found an older version of Rainbow Folders, which had reference to the author's site -- found a new version. It's pretty simple, doesn't do much except allow color changes to the standard 'folder' icon. The color changes will reflect in the various windows which show that (changed) folder, as well as reflect in the shortcut image.

It takes only a little bit of fiddling, and considering the vast number of colors available in computer life, the varieties are a bit limited. But for the simple requirement of 'visible variation', it's quite adequate and useful.

It's PostCardWare, which means the author wants only a postcard from the User. Pretty inexpensive...

Did I find the original version on MG? Can't remember...
They say that memory is the second thing to go in our advancing years -- I can't remember the first thing... :confused
