Need some help please see logs

    Hello,

    I am having trouble with email. I can't open 2007 office outlook and hotmail says error on page when I click on anything email or folder. Office word and excel work fine.
    Hopefully I ran everything correctly. This is my mother computer and she started having problems with outlook about 10 days ago so I had her use hotmail and that problem started 3-days ago. She also let Mcafee expire and she didn't have any antivirus for 2-weeks. I could not find the superantispyware log but the scan lasted over 2 hrs and did not find anything.

    Malware detected in email databases has to be cleaned up by you. You have a few choices:

    1. delete the whole file which is not an option you normally want to use
    2. load the email folder that contains the infection and delete ALL unnecessary emails (hoping to remove the problem email) and then use the Mailbox Cleanup option to delete all old emails. Then compact the Outlook database to permanently remove data. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291645 If you do not cleanup and compact the databases, the deleted emails may still be leaving hidden information in the database that you just cannot see but a scanner may still pickup on it.
    3. create a new folder and move only emails you really need into the new folder and then delete the infected folder.

    In the meantime, use windows explorer to find and delete:
    c:\programdata\SPLE688.tmp
    c:\programdata\SPL648D.tmp
    c:\programdata\SPL2607.tmp
    c:\programdata\SPL40E8.tmp
    c:\programdata\SPL4367.tmp
    c:\programdata\SPL5ED2.tmp

    Tell me what issues you may still have, if any.

    You may need to post in the software forum for you problem opening Outlook.

    I deleted those files but I can't do anything in hotmail it says error on page on the bottom left when I click on emails or folders. Outlook will open now but nothing happens when I click on emails or folders. This laptop has several problems. System restore doesn't work, Microsoft update doesn't work now. Microsoft security essentials update is stuck. I think I’m just going to remove and reinstall everything. Will that get rid of any viruses/malware?

    Yes, a clean install the involves a complete reformat will remove any virus on your system. But you will lose all personal data and files. You might first want to try doing a repair install to see if that fixes any issues with Office. If I recall correctly ( since I don't use Outlook ) you should have a tab for help that gives you a repair option.
