Need some help recovering files

Greetings all

I recently had my entire My Documents folder moved and renamed through no action of my own- I'm pretty sure Checkdisk did it because the contents are now located in the folder c:\found.15\chk0000.dir

So, I have been trying almost every file recovery program I can find. None of them so far have allowed me to recover these files, and some of them can't even find the folder! The best software I've found is Undelete by Active Data Recovery Software (aka LSoft), because it was actually able to find ALL of the files, in exactly the same hierarchy as they were before, and I can preview all the photos (up to a 64kb limit) so I know that the data itself is still good.

However, Undelete won't let me actually restore the files. I tried to do it to a different disk (digital camera, acting as a removable drive), and that didn't work.

Can anyone suggest a better strategy for saving these files? I REALLY want them back, as you can imagine.

sometimes this program has helped me recover deleted files. however, it doesn't always work like a charm.

OK folks, I have actually had a great deal of success with step one of the recovery- actually recovering the files. Using Active Undelete, I am now able to transfer them over to another hard disk (the problem I initially had moving them was because I was doing something wrong).

Step 2 however remains a problem. I want to be able to DELETE these files now that I have them safely stored elsewhere. My original hard drive is packed to the hilt, and since Windows cannot see these folders itself, I can't throw them in the Recycle Bin. Is there a utility that will not only find these files/folders, but also ERASE THEM for good?
