need to access a computer remotly

ok heres the thing my girl lives about 400miles away and her computer keeps crashing and seeing that i cant be right there in front of it to work on it is there a free program that will let me connect to her computer and work on it from here she dont know much about her computer i think she has winxp dont know what one she dont even know who made her computer but so what should i do she dont have xp disk so can she do system restore with out the disk i just need to look around hdd and tell her what to remove to fix the problem she has no virus i did tell her to download that anti-spyware progarm but you know how that is. what can i do

 

if she has xp pro you can use remote desktop connection.
she needs to enable remote desktop connection and i beleive she needs to put a password on her user name.

ok i will try but she dont know nothing about her computer i am useing 98se is that a problem if it is i also made a deal with someone on here about a computer and i should have it friday and it has xp pro i am trying to teach her some things about a computer
