Need to find some info on a .exe

Are you running AVG? loggingserver.exe is part of AVG Secure Search. But there are other programs that use this same file name, like:

Have you enable the column named >> Image Path Name in Task Manager? If not, you should. Otherwise Task Manager is not that helpful in identifying what a process is.

 

This is what you get from AVG. Sorry but it is part of the program. This maybe one of the items it loads as a service.

Not sure exactly when the process came about, but AVG Secure Search has been around for many years and has always been hated by many people. I stopped using AVG or recommending AVG many years ago now. Actually back around the timeframe of AVG 7.5 or so.

 

Possibly an update to the program. If you don't like it running, uninstall AVG, but per comments I have seen about this Secure Search program, it will still be there and may need to be forced out. Not truly considered malware but it somewhat fits the definition.

If you want to try removing the process, run MGtools and attach the log. Perhaps we can figure something out. It could just come back again at the next update or upgrade.
