need to know if...

    i just bought and installed the new "PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Antivirus" and i need to know if i still need another antivirus program as well ?
    i also use bata Advanced Windows care,
    Spybot S/D,
    Spyware Blaster,
    Spyware Guard, and
    CCleaner
    Do i need anything else???
    By the way, i am new to this forum so please be
    kind LOL

    Hi and Welcome

    No you only need one Antivirus application to be installed at once, mainly as having two can cause issues, like slow computer due to both AVs scanning same files at once, to incompatbilities and both AVs saying each other is a virus, due to the virus dat files.

    I would also disable Spybot S&Ds Tea-Timer function of your running PCtools as those may conflict with each other.

    But the other items seem fine, but what software Firewall are you using?

    thanks so much for replying so fast. at the present i am not useing one i guess since i removed "Zone Alarm free" cause i found it 2 intrusive.. can you recomend 1 please? i use cable to get online and zone alarm seemed to slow down my getting on...

    Which Windows version are you using?

    Yes PCTools which is one highlighted in the guide I posted above, although on install, do remember to untick the Google Toolbar option, as its not worth having. This one will work in XP and Vista.

    i am useing XP and i have the new Spyware Doctor that has the antivirus built in... i also added "ThreatFire" from pctools today.. THANKS
