Need to remove AOL Bundle++ from notebook (& yes I read FAQ for new computer setup)

    Hi,

I want to remove the bundle of AOL junk+ that Sony as included on my Vaio notebook. Napster goes with this wish. No CD's were included with the computer shipped to me. I'm running Vista 64. Sony C.S. is not much help because "they" ,of course, are encouraged to keep AOL on customers PC. I use nothing AOL ever, and until I do, I don't want it wasting space and speed.

Bundle: AOL Advantage. AIM, Napster, BlueString, My eAddress, AOL Video

I've been to Control Panel>Programs & Features...and not all of the bundle appears there. I did try to uninstall the AOL Toolbar 5.0. When I attempted this the uninstall process runs forever and AOL is never successfully uninstalled. As a matter of fact, anything that I have uninstalled on the new laptop takes forever. I don't understand this. (On my old computer w/Win NT 2000, any uninstall was a minute at most.)
Napster wants to install itself when I choose to uninstall. ??? I'm afraid to let it go ahead because of the nightmare Napster created on my last PC.

As for this bundle, I don't want to screw anything up trying to remove it via. the various ways I've found by Yahoo searching. I don't trust much that doesn't come from MajorGeeks. I want it completely removed...with no traces left behind. I don't want removal repercussions either.

If there's a previous post that I missed and it provided answers/directions to my exact request, please link me to it and my apologies for missing it.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

    L.

    Thanks

I ran the PC-Decrapifier...it removed the AOL Toolbar 5.0 & Napster.
Hummm...I wonder why Control Panel-Programs and Features wouldn't remove the AOL toolbar through it's uninstall option.

The other AOL Bundle Items I mentioned in the initial post are still there.
The AOL folders show they are located in
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
(this is what is shown when I right click the item and view properties.)

I don't think it is recommended procedure to just go into this location and delete the folders. Is it? Is there an appropriate protocol to use when removing the remaining folders?
I'm trying to do everything correctly with my new system.

after google AOL removal tool i have found this
http://www.exterminate-it.com/malpedia/remove-aol and this from AOL AOL removal
If you have deletedthe folders in c:\program files\ then reboot and run ccleaner's registry cleaner, this will remove some of the AOL keys. I notice it also gets into IE al all over the place.
