Need to restore XP without CD

I have just won a week long battle with 8 (count 'em) Trojan Downloaders. After each was detected and deleted I ran Norton WinDoctor et al and repaired any damage. All seemed fine.

Then I encountered - 'trojandownloader.win32.agent.pj', 'graybird.Q' and 'trojandownloader.win32.perfiler. They have left many holes in my registry. I can't launch any programs including 'System Restore' or any web browser. I have contacted Packard Bell (OEM) and followed their instructions to the letter, but still have one very dead piece of plastic in the corner.

Can anyone suggest alt ways of restoring the registry?

 

Usually OEM systems have the OS installation/repair stuff on a separate partition on the hard drive that is hidden. Try hitting different function keys while booting into Windows to see if you're presented with a list of options.

 

Befor doing anything what do you use for virus and trojan control.

 

have now hand written registry info and added it in. system restore now works (sort of). will try a few more lines of code before hitting head against wall.

JuJet84 - I used kaspersky to control pesky trojans, all seems quiet.

If you were battling by your lonesome self, I'd recommend downloading all the tools (burning to cd) and running them on your infected machine:

I do realize that some online scans will not run on your machine, since you can't access the internet. But, download the tools that you can, and run them, then post in the spyware forums to be sure you are malware free.
