I just bought a Dlink router to make my internet connection wireless for my laptop. Problem is that you have to connect to another computer to make the connection wireless. I don't have another computer. Laptop only. Anybody know what kind of router will just connect to my cable internet to make the signal wireless? Any help would be greatly appreciated

It is a matter of luck some Wireless Router might connect by default with a laptop.

Otherwise, you can find for less than $20 a USB to Ethernet connection, plug it to the USB port of the Laptop, plug the other side to the Router, and use a wire port for the initial configuration.

Most laptops have an ethernet port, so just connect to one of the ports of your Dlink and bring up a browser and type 192.168.0.1 and you should get a login prompt. username is 'adming" No password. You should get in. But as Cat5e stated I am pretty sure they come setup for wireless by default, that means your SSID should be "default" and they are setup fo DHCP out of the box as well. See if it works.
