Need XP drivers for HP a6600z

HI Everyone,

Just purchased an HPa6600z and installed the drivers that I found in someone else's post : http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=156991

I have the same exact motherboard.
I need the drivers for the Video Controller (VGA Compatible) and the PCI Simple Communications Controller.
I also paid an extra $30 for the Nvidia GeForce 9300 GE card, but I can't seem to find any drivers for it for XP. (HP has drivers for Vista).

Tried that one, and it doesn't work. I downloaded the one starting in 178 and it did the trick! (Actually I downloaded and installed every single one I could get my hands on until one of them worked).
Now the only thing that is left is:

PCI Simple Communications Controller

(do I need this?)
Hmm if I'm not ever going to add anything into the pci slot could I just not install the controller? Anyhow, it is always nice to have everything installed and running properly.

Bugga,

HP only has the drivers for Windows Vista. I don't understand why they would cease to support XP. IMHO XP whoops vista's in terms of usability and stability.
As for Asus.
In the Asus forums, they referred over to majorgeeks, which is where I found the main motherboard drivers (+2 points for majorgeeks). Asus builds the board for HP and then has nothing to do with it.

I have the same model and was planning on downgrading to XP as well. Did you have any issues at the beginning because of the SATA drives?

 

Go to HP forum. They have instructions for downgrading to XP.
