    Hi Red - 43 dumps!?

    I gave the most recent 5 a quick check, they're essentially identical so I then debugged the most recent:
    *                                                                             *

    The finger is pointing directly to the USB subsystem, checking the Stack Text makes it look like it's a problem with resuming/waking something connected via USB.

    I would think that this problem can be bypassed by checking the power-saving settings in Device Manager for all USB root hubs and disallowing them all to 'turn off this device to save power'.

    However, there may be a better fix; on looking through the drivers loaded during the time of the BSOD/dump, I see that there's no evidence that Windows Update has run recently. Over the last few months, almost all dumps I've checked have listed several USB-related drivers that are very recent, ie. updated by Windows Update.

    So, disconnect all USB devices temporarily and run Windows Update and install all Critical updates then scan through the Recommended updates, many of these will also be relevant to your machine. Any that mention USB, power, ACPI, reliability, etc. should be installed.

    Be prepared for a possible knock-on effect from applying the patches though, there's a chance that updating Windows could mean you'll need to update 3rd party drivers or software to suit. We'll deal with that later, if it happens ;)

    The laptop model is Advent 6552

    I didn't come across any critical updates or any for usb or similar.

    The updates won't specifically state which files are replaced until you dig about in the KB articles for each update. If there are Critical updates available, install them please.

    Ok, now install and run DriverView, if you list by date, do you see some USB files from this year?

    No driver names with usb in it for 2011. 09 has some

    Thanks for sticking with me :)

    No worries :)

    We have the disable power saving to fall back on. Do you want to try installing groups of the Recommended updates next? Try installing 3 at one time, reboot after each group of updates then check Driverview again.
