Does anyone here do needlework such as cross stitch or needlepoint?

My g/f does and has for quite some time, in the past 18 months she has been branching into the design area of it, of course being a needlework husband I probably know much more about it than I should :-D .... or would like to admit :strong

So at the risk of looking like spam I'm trying to plug wifeys designs :-D
She only has a handful at the moment as each one takes a while to design and then at least a month or so to model stitch. But she has several on the boards and ready to release in the near future :)

I came up with the name :cool

Actually not trying to get her extra business, more trying to help her and her friends let people know the art is still thriving and has flooded onto the internet.

Sort of. I use a hypodermic needle to inflate night crawlers so they float off the bottom, I wish I had some pictures of my work to post.:-D

Would your g/f let me put some on her site??;):wave:wave

Those designs are very nice. I used to crochet (anything long and straight) LOL
Have never had the patience to be still long enough

    @Brandy..... Thats....... lovely lol

@Darlene... Me either, not for that, I did do one simple design a couple of years ago simply because I'll try almost anything once.......but never again, I prefer blowing stuff up and killing people while trying to save the world from alien invasions :-D

@ Brandy, I hear ya, us that fish do go to extremes sometimes! :-D

I do cross stitching in the winter. Nice project for indoors, when you can't get outside. I have done it for many years now. I am self-taught, and sold many pieces, donated to many fundraisers, that were very appreciative of the donation. Lots of compliments too. I like details. The more, the better.:)

My walls are full, so I finish a project, I get it matted and framed, and then donate to a worthy fundraiser. Amazing how many $1 tickets that sell for one framed piece. Some, have taken me a year to stitch. I find it quite relaxing. :)

When you say "Sold many pieces" are you talking about your own designs or pieces you have stitched? Just curious if they were/are your own designs what name you released them under :)

Also she's always interested to see other designers work, she generally prefers that teeny tiny 36-40 count linen, basically like stitching on a Tshirt, I can barely see the holes, would go cross eyed trying :-D

Unfortunately we havn't got many of my g/f's designs framed since the framers around here are horrendously expensive, the "My Mothers Garden" design featured on her front page cost over $380 just to frame it.
Which really bugs me because I used to frame pictures etc but no longer have the tools to do it nor can I easily get hold of frame beading around here.

We do intend to get them all framed and up on the walls but when we have a bit more money and a bigger house.

I'm very proud of her, she's now got her designs in over 50 stores worldwide, plus internet availability.
But like most designers/developers/musicians, her cut of the profits is the smallest, the stores make the real money.......damn stores lol

I just think it's cool to maybe have something hanging on someones wall hundreds of years from now that she created.
