    hello,

i have very successfully used your malware removal protocol on my home computer, but it all stumbled on my work one.
i have all 4 programs downloaded and installed. i have, also, AVG internet security. with firewall, of course.
NONE of the malware programs can access internet for updates. superantispyware and spybot say "make sure you are connected or firewall is not blocking access".
    same goes for malwarebytes.
none of the programs shows under "applications" in AVG firewall. none, i checked several times. usually, firewall asks me to grant or deny access for any new program that i have installed, and for some i have it set up like this per each internet access attempt. but these 3 prgms as if do not exist to AVG firewall.
same happens with firewall turned off.
also, i had a strange message from spybotS&D: "if you delete advertisement bots using this program, you will not be able to use root prgrams for them". ?? i did not have that on my home computer.

anyways, i am open to suggestions. so far, neither of the programs detected any malware on my machine, but then they are all fairly outdated and need updates, and it just does not go through. windows firewall is turned off.

Leave the updating for later.....please just attach the requested logs without the updates.

ok, i have spybot and superantisyware logs attached. malware bytes simply says "scanned, time, etc, zero threats, etc".

if you need me to log anything else, please, let me know, i can't guess which logs to attach without knowing specifically, and i could not find in the forum which logs are "requested".

thank you for your help. btw, superanti... is set to start automatically at windows startup, and it does not. does on my home machine. just an observation.

You didn't attach the MGLogs.zip. I need that to see what is going on in your system.

I'm not seeing any problems with that machine....but you should always start a new thread for a different computer and title it as such so that we don't get confused with which fix is for which machine.

I'll look at the other when you get the chance to attach it.

I'm not sure what your problem is, but it isn't malware. Your logs are clean, so I would suggest that you post in the software section. :)

well, that's good news. problem was that none of malware programs will be able to contact their maternal sites for updates, so i was afraid that something on the machine is blocking them from doing so. even with firewalls turned off. i have odd ISP, it might be on their end, as some other programs have the same issue.
all's well that ends well. i'll just deal with it as is.
thank you for your time and consideration. enjoy spring time.
