Nero 7 installation problem

Hello there,
First post so if it is not done right, please bear with me.
I bought a LG H42 DVD burner that came with Nero 7 software. When I try to install the software it slows the computer to a crawl and the CPU runs at 100% with nothing but the desktop open. The OS is XP SP2, there are no other burning programs installed. Am I doing something wrong? Is the installation disc dodgey? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, old dog.

 

We purchased a Sony DVD burner that came with Nero software. It wasn't the full version, and it was rather resource hungry. I have used DVD FabDecrypter

since our run in with Nero. There are tutorials for their use on the web. Also used DVD Shrink

to put DVD movies onto single layer discs, although DVD Shrink wouldn't work well on a Compaq Presario laptop, it worked well on the desktops. There are getting to be a few good free alternatives to what I consider to be bloatware.

It's possible there is something running in the background. You could open your task manager to check your running processes or just simply re-boot (if you haven't tried that) and try again.

I have checked the task manager and rebooted, no luck. I am using DVD Decrypter and Autogc that seem to work pretty well, so I will give Image burn a try and see how it goes, either way I will give Nero a miss.
