I am not sure if this a problem with Nero, my computer, or my my HP DVD200i. So moderators move this or delete this as you see fit. Anyway my computer is a home grown with an Intel MoBo, a Pentium 4 1.3 GHz, 640 Mb RAM, 160 G HDD, and my O.S. is XP Pro. The software that comes with the HP does not work with 8.5 MB DVD+R's. So I got Nero 7 Ultra. I have tried to burn several videos that I have on my HDD to DVD. All of these videos play fine in Media Player Classic, Real Player, etc. When I preview a video in Nero before I burn it I get a loud high frequncy buzz in the audio. And the video has about 35% of the right screen obscured by a high frequncy blue bar with white streaks. Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

Regarding format I have tried XviD, MPEG, AVI, KVCD MPEG, and probaly a few others. I have just noticed that the Nero Player, Showtime II I think, will not play my videos properly either. They play fine in Media Player Classic, Real Player, and Windows Media Player. But in Nero they play just like the previews in the Nero Burner. I am new to burning DVD+R's and I have been reading the Nero PDF's to no avail so far. It seems like it is so easy and that I must be missing something obvious. I know that I am low on RAM and I am planning on moving up to 1.5 G but I doubt that is it. Thanks for asking.

Nero supports all those formats and should have no problem with them. Have you made a DVD yet to see if there is a problem there also? If not, to check you could make a test DVD with a small video file and save it in your documents or desktop with the image recorder instead of the burner. Don't forget to save the logs. When it's done, mount that image file (will have .nrg extension) with Nero Image drive and play it with your media players to see if it is just a Showtime problem or something more. Doing it this way will allow you to test this without actually risking a real DVD disc. I've checked Google and Nero's FAQ's and don't see anything like you describe. Here is the Nero support form http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/support.php It can't hurt to ask.
