Nero Dvd Burning Not Working Please Help

    I keep getting this error IT SAYS POWER caliberation error?

    If your using XP then try the below......


    Goto Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > hunt for
    IMAPI CD BURNING COM SERVICE > Right click it and select Properties > under Startup Type choose Disabled > Apply

    try again Nero.

    I did that but it stil says it failed after about 20 sec?

    You might solve some of the problems you are having (including this one) by going to the manufacturer of your computers website and see if there are any updates available. Should be listed under Downloads/Drivers.

    Apart from the IMAPI service that can cause power calibration issues, others are:

    Are you using a new brand of disks?
    Cheaper bulk disks being used mainly, but also high end brands can suffer from this, so advice try different media brands.

    Firmware to drive needs updating to recognise newer brands of disk.

    If you added new hardware to your PC before this happened, you dont have enough power, so unplug some USB devices if any are attached.

    Its a 1.5 hour video thats an .avi file
    Is there another way to burn a video(.avi) file to a dvd for a dvd player instead of going to udf/iso on the smart start for nero?

    i'm pretty sure you have to convert that .avi file into an iso file. search the web for some software that can do this. i believe that was your problem all along.

    Whats a better way to just record a dvd file onto a dvd with nero or is there another one you would suggest? Can you give me a step by step detailed description of how to do it
