Nero, What?

I had my nero working great, then when I installed a new burner I made the mistake of running the supplied disk.. Well now my SHOWTIME does not play avi. files correctly. Also if I burn something it looks the same on my DVD player. The sound is great, but the video looks like rainbows and extra stuff . (misiing codec) I have removed all traces of nero from my system. I have NERO 7 ultra ,, nero 6 premium, nero 7 essentials, as well as about eight other codec, plug-in and extra packs for NERO. I am confused because the media player plays them perfectly, as well as showtime 2, (I dont have it now) but showtime 3 is not working correctly , as well as NERO recode, Which one do you recommend, With wich codec pack, plug in , and so on??

 

This is a regular problem - burning software, when uninstalled, or, another program to burn is installed. One reason from Microsoft was the filters become corrupted, and there is a fix aat Microsoft , for that.

Can you suggest which NERO and which plug-in to use?

 

Before re-installing either, if you run sfc /scannow, with the XP disc in the rom drive, and let it run , keep pressing retry, until completed, it could make a re-install work properly. Then I would put on whichever version of Nero, you prefeerred - I would not run 6, and 7 - together.
A codec package, beyond the Nero set might , again , conflict with Nero, but if you want to try one,

Naw Baklogic, I have NERO codec packs and plug ins, What exactly are you tellin me to do with the xp disk? I am unfamiliar with anything other than reinstall and repair, I had to remove multiple advent2dll?? (nero ag) entries from system 32 and win 32 folder , also for some reason I had a copy of NERO digital installed in the all users folder, so it did not show on the add/remove but it was on the show all programs. I removed a bunch of stuff last night , It will run without error messages now but It dont work right! As far as the corruption I installed Daemon tools and then my Alcohol 120 started acting up so I removed the 120 (don't need it ). But what are you tellin me to do with the xp cd? I don't wanna make a mistake with this one ok!

 

It keeps asking me to select... Just keep on hittin' retry? This is normal?

 

Use only one of your three Nero installations. Uninstall everything then use the Nero clean tool (available on the Nero website). Nero 7 Ultra and Nero 6 Premium should need no plugins. They are the deluxe versions and come with all options included. Nero 7 Essentials will need those plugins to have the same functionality as the Ultra version.

Alcohol 120 is also known to create problems, when removed.
That was the reason for running sfc /scannow.
Just keep pressing retry, until finished, as this is normal, as Windows replaces corrupted files.

 

OK ,, First I would like to help everybody for all the help so far.. I have all working correct EXCEPT!! Nero is unable to properly read .avi (windows movie) Media uses the x-vid and a ffdshow for this and works luv,luv. Nero is tryin to use mpeg 2 and had rainbows everywhere. Does anyone know of a known codec conflict or how to resolve this? When I removed xp codec pack the Nero improved but not all the way. I now have k-lite mega. I ran the nero with this removed and same thing! I used to recode avi and burn to vcd, now I have to recode with dvd flick and burn dvd. I want to burn vcd but now I can't.. Please Help Me!
