NET+ exam advice

Hello All,

i have a rather different question to ask. I am not asking for support with a problem, but more for advice. Admins if this is in the wrong section feel free to move. I am currently studying NET+ so as to get a certification in Networking. I already have a book. My question is there a reccomended way to study for the exam?

Another question is would security+ be something to go after once i complete NET+?

Looks like the Net+ is a lot of basic networking theory. I looked over the objectives downloaded from the comptia website found here
http://www.comptia.org/certifications/testprep.aspx

You should look over these objectives and make sure you're familiar with all of them. Once you think you're ready, schedule the exam. If you dont pass the first time, you'll at least know what you need to study more.

Ive been working on the ccna for a while now... just dont give up if you dont pass the first time.

 

Correct me if i am wrong but is that something with cisco netoworking?

 

its a cisco cert, but it covers more than just cisco proprietary protocols. most protocol proprietary to cisco have an ieee standardized protocol. its more inter-networking getting into routing protocols. fun stuff.

according to comptia, net+ is foundation level. great place to start if you dont have much background in networking. ccna is probably your next step unless you want to go for your security+ first.
