    Any recommendations for a good series to watch? We have loved Grace and Frankie, Breaking Bad, Longmire, Crossing lines, and The Republic of Doyle. Wife does not like Medieval England stuff, so Thrones is out. I,m not into House of Cards. Any one got a good one?

    Not sure how far back they go on Netflix (they just finished Season 5 I believe on air) but The Blacklist is amazing.

    Netflix series:
    Mindhunters- about the FBI hunters who came up with profiling. Great show.
    Stranger Things- Just released season 2 of that which is awesome.
    Narcos- Never watched it, but my kids loved it.
    NCIS- ditto, the same as Narcos
    Orange is the New Black- Doesn't seem like you, but that's my favorite netflix series ever
    Jessica Jones- if you like the Marvel shows, that's the best that Netflix did in my opinion.


    As far as the rest, there's so many. What type do you like?

    Btw, I love Grace and Frankie. :)

    Yes, Laura, I use that site also. She who must be obeyed doesn't like prison shows. Watched Mindhunters and got bored. Seen Jessica Jones and all the related shows. Loved Transporter. Waiting for them to release the 6th season of Longmire.

    lol...well, if you can stand it, I loved Gilmore Girls and Girlfriends Guide to Divorce. :D

    Some shows that my hubby and I watch together are:

    Lethal Weapon
    Hawaii 5-0
    Blacklist
    Sherlock (awesome)

    The Punisher (new Marvel show)- this is coming out tomorrow and is supposed to be good.

    On network but it’s in its second season so thought it might be on there. I’m sure at some point it will be. If so, it’s a fun one to watch.

    It was on the list at the website, but when I pointed it out to them, they removed it. It's no longer on Netflix.

    Just start watching older stuff.

    I Prefer the older stuff next to the new stuff.Most of the new stuff are repeats of the same shows any way.In which case most people don't realize.

    There are so many dumb shows out there any more i hardly ever turn the TV on any more.There is nothing really original any more just a remake of another show or just updated.

    I only watched a couple of reality tv shows and i hatem.Stuff like the voice and others like it are crap in my opinion.

    Oh and don't get me started on them shows that have the fake laugh on them.Them shows annoy me the most be cause they are trying to be funny but are not that funny.

    According to Laura's website,Netflix has Dexter and Criminal Minds. Have you considered one of them?

    Fair warning that Dexter started sucking after season four or so.

    You can now download episodes to watch offline through the netflix app running on updated versions of iOs, Android and Win10

    As for direct recording outside of the data restraints set by your ISP, I guess a networked VCR would do setting up episode record times if not directly viewing.......but thats sooo 90's, something us old farts still live for though ;)

    Have considered Dexter ....might check that out next. Use to watch Criminal Minds on TV.

    Hulu has Lethal Weapon, Lucifer, Futurama, and even Robot Chicken. Lots of movies too.

    I've got to give a major nod to "The Blacklist". The opener for season 2 was just pure awesome. If you dig Star Wars, Clone Wars is available on NetFlix. Also nearly all the Star Trek series and even the new Voltron.

    Futurama ha it got old about the third or fourth season.

    The first couple were funny as hell,But other than that it just got old be cause they cancelled the show to many times.And that was just a ploy to entice people to watch the next season be cause it was not ready yet.

    James Spader is definitely one of my favorites. If you haven't seen "Jacob's Ladder", you should. Tim Robbins is in my top 5.

    I'm watching The Punisher season 1; it is quite good and nuanced. Not as stupid as I thought it would be. I'll be watching Longmire season 6 after the Punisher. I also like Merlin.

    I have been watching Death in Paradise and find it easy to watch although the script is a bit like it is written to a formula. There are 6 seasons and season 7 just notified that it will be starting in 2018 :D
    The english detectives are quite quirky :rolleyes:o_O

    I'll second Mimsy's Dexter suggestion . . . also agree the first four seasons are the best. I'm starting season 6 and while it still seems worth watching, the writing has plainly suffered a change for the worse since season 5.

    A large part of the reason for that was that Dexter moved from HBO to Showtime. Different target audiences and tone/culture... Kind if makes you wonder why a network like Showtime would go through the trouble of acquiring a show where the whole point was to be a serial killer who's trying to live a normal life while still enjoying serial killing, when they immediately started trying to remove or soften the "unpalatable" parts there weren't good fit for their brand image.

    Ah, Death in Paradise. I catch that on the Public Broadcasting tv stations. I do have Season 1 and 2 in my queue. I don't stream Netflix, I do the DVD by mail.

    We've been watching Body of Proof, which was cancelled after 3 seasons. Our memories must be bad because my husband and I watched the show about a Philadelphia coroner's office on tv and yet we don't remember the episodes! It's like we're watching it for the first time.

    Btw, after seeing you mention it, I started watching Longmire. I'm really enjoying it. lol...I have no idea why, but it's oddly compelling.

    I loved Nikita. She's awesome. Longmire is great so far. I'm into Season 2 pretty far. He's got the weirdest, driest sense of humor. I usually go for the less subtle shows this one has really good characters and the town itself is a character as well.
