I recently got a new system, "upgraded" from Win98 to XP. Since that time, my internet connection via Netscape (56K dialup) constantly attempts to connect to the internet when I'm working offline. It massively disrupts the CAD program I work in. I've tried disabling HP auto-updater, iTunes auto-updater, any other updater I can think of. I've removed eveything from Quick Launch folders except for Desktop. I've set my internet preferences in Firefox and IE to "never dial a connection", yet it persists.

Any suggestion for how I can track down which program is causing this? It didn't happen on my old system with Win98.

    Thanks!

Have you disabling services for dial up connections in computer management may or may not work but its worth a shot also disable your dial up modem if you dont use it.
