Hi, my home PC has been strtuggling with internet speed for the last few weeks.
On several occasions I have had to reboot to gain network connection.
I have a work PC connected to the network in the same way (both via cable thru a powerline to the router) with no issue.
I have re-booted router, powerline adaptorers, and swapped cables etc.
I'm guessing issue with network part of the mobo.
Can anyone recommend troubleshotting locations online or software or report to run?

    sfc /scannow found no issue.

The key question here is whether the problem is between computer and router (your problem) or between router and ISP (their problem). On the assumption it's not your problem you need to get into your router and establish its connection speed. For that you need to sign in to your router in your browser using its IP address, UserID and password, which you can find either in your router documentation or by looking it up on the manufacturer's website. There aren't any absolute values here but the answer has to be judged against what your ISP promised you or advertises.

Let us know what you find.

Another thought - if it would be possible to swap the two computers so each is connected to the other powerline adapter then that should tell you if the problem is internal to your computer or is upstream.

Thanks for your input. Firstly re second pint, the PCs go thru the same powerline (twin ports), and I have swapped cables etc.
Secondly, I am aware of my internet speed via online and mobile (cell phone) speed tests, and seems ok.
Just this one PC doesn't seem to be getting it....highlighted by the fact that it can't get any internet connection at times (and the other PC is fine), that can be fixed by a re-boot?

I tend to agree with you on this point.

You can buy a USB to ethernet adapter which is probably easier than opening up the computer and installing a NIC card.

Cheers, thanks for that, always good to get someone to review issue in case there is something i have missed.
I am happy to insert a card, but not sure which type/spec to buy, low budget for an old PC will do, any ideas?
Will try to resolve and report back.

First thing to do is check that the current NIC has the latest driver. I have found Iobit Driver Booster to be a first class tool for this. The free version is fine.

Look in 'Device Manager' and see if drivers match up. See if internal cards or parts are the same.
Use @Earthlings' Driver suggestion then compare.
