So I help manage a network of ~100 machines. All windows (xp) and OS X.

I want to be able to monitor which machines are logged in at any one time. It would be great if the software could give a sort of "downtime" for machines that have not logged in for a while (last seen).

Ideally, this would display on a single screen in list fashion (i.e. if I have to individually check a different page for every host, it would be quicker to just walk around the building).

It would be best if the software could run locally from a windows or mac desktop, but a web based Unix program will do in a pinch.

    Any ideas?
