    Hello..

I wanted to post a problem I was having, because for some reason I can't figure it out...

    Here is the scenario:

    4 workstations
    wired network
    no wireless

    Ok here's the problem...

I am setting up a new printer at a small office. The old printer is shot.
The new printer is being set up as a network printer. Now...the old printer has an ip of 192.168.10.220 ok.

The new printer has an ip of 192.168.53.58. When I hook up tthe printer to any other ethernet port in the office, it works fine for all workstations.

    but...

When I hook it up at the old printers ethernet port, it will not print and it can not be recognized on the network.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

Change the printers IP to the same as the old one when plugged into that port and see what happens. Sounds like a routing issue where that port is going through a router that does not route to the 192.168.53. * subnet. If it works then it is definitely a routing issue. If it fails still you'll have to do some tracing to see how that port is wired and to what it goes through.
