My school has lost their network protocols and wants to add on to their LAN. Is there any way to find out what the protocols are without setting up entirely new ones? They are currently running WinNT but will be running something new (XP?) after the christmas break.

You mean like Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)? If they're running NT, that's more than likely the protocol they were using.

could you clarify a bit what you mean by saying that they've lost their network protocols? maye some details on what happened, and describe what you mean by the protocols.

    thanks :)

sorrry, by network protocols I mean the security information that they need to correctly connect a new computer to the network. And by "lost" I mean "misplaced" as in, no one knows them or where they are.
