I have two linksys routers installed in my home. The primary router is connected to the cable modem, and the secondary router is connected to one of the 4 ports in the primamry router. Problem is that the one computer I have connected to the secondary router can not communicate with the other computers on the network hooked to the primary router. I have set up different IP address for each router; all computers (3 on primamry router+1 on secondary router) communicate ok with the internet; 3 computers on primary router are networked with no problems; have Windows XP and ran the network wizard. Just can't get the 1 computer on 2nd router to communicate with other computers. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. These are the instructions I followed to initially hook up the second router. This works as far as getting access to the internet. My specific problem is that I cannot get the computer connected to the 2nd router to recognize my home network.

I'm assuming you used the first option -
"By connecting the second router’s Ethernet port to the main router’s Ethernet port, the computers connected to both routers will be on the same LAN IP segment. This will allow sharing of network resources within the network. For instructions, click here."
Any software firewalls involved? That needs to be allowed also.
Do you have an identical user account on the 4th computer with the same password that has been accessed once?

Actually, the connection is from the first router ethernet port (port #4) to the Internet connection of the 2nd router. Is this the problem? My only other option is to connect to 2nd router at one of its ethernet ports (1-4). The first router internet port is used by the cable from the modem.

So you connected to the WAN port (Internet port) of the second Router, and you inserted second Routing, and create two Independent networks, and thus No file sharing.

Congratulations, your system works the way it should when setting it with two Routing circuits.rolleyes

The instructions on both links that were posted say connect LAN port to LAN port. :D
