Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

    Greetings.

As a longtime user/proponent of avast! Free edition I was surprised this morning by the thumbnailed message. I appreciated the warning and the file was 100% safe (note the filename), but I was wondering if this is a new avast! feature that I've never seen before.

Just a head's up if it is. ;)

Hey Caliban, I got the same pop up when downloading the Microsoft Fix-it plug in too. I contacted Avast but never heard back yet.

I already saw this message. Not quite certain when though.

Antivirus software developers don't waste a thought on virus definitions anymore. They just have a white-list. Each program that doesn't appear on this list is automatically assumed to be malware ;)

I have a long list of exclusions defined because each of my own C programs is detected as false positive. I fear I have to grin and bear it though.
