Hi people more computer savvy than me.
A while back I posted about yahoo hijacking my google searches, google being my default search engine. No one could solve this, certainly not me. Well, I switched from ie to firefox, and no more problem! Thought you'd like to know.
However, in ie you can view the cookies and temp files you have acquired while online, and then delete them. In Firefox you can delete history, cookies, files, but I can't figure out how to view them first. Anyone know? Also, now that I am confident with Firefox, which is so much easier to use, and I think, safer, certainly works better and without the freezes of ie, I would like to remove ie from my computer. It is not listed on add/remove programs, and when I went to add/remove windows components, it only added another ie, wouldn't remove it. I need all the memory I can get so would like to remove ie. How can I safely do that. Many thanks.

In short if you have to ask how to do it you can't.

While it is technically possible, many things rely on it to work and it is quite teh job getting it out anyway.

The best you can do is revert to IE6 and just not use it :)

To view your cookies you can click on Tools > Options, the options window should pop up. Click on the Privacy Tab. In the middle of the window on the right side is the view cookies button. You can also press the Alt+O keys together to bring up the options window.

To view history press Ctrl+H keys together, press the same keys again to hide the history.

Hope I got all that right as I'm using Opera at the moment. So hope I remembered correctly.

I have an addon installed called cookie culler.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/82
I can view and manage my FF cookies through this. I've added a choc. chip icon to my menu bar so I can click and look anytime FF is open.

As far as history, I have my history set to 0 days so for me there is never anything to view.

    Could also install WinPatrol.
Can pick and choose which to keep and delete the rest.
    Works with Firefox and IE.
