new build boot loop

hey newbie here to this forum. its a M7VIG 400 BIOSTAR mobo with sempron 2200. but i have a problem with a boot loop that reboots after dmi check. a few days earlier i installed windows without a problem and even installed some programs and mobo drivers. i shut it down and unplugged it from the wall because of the lack of another surge protector. when i turned it back on i got this bootloop problem. i cleared cmos and got an error saying cpu is overclocked and to make changes and save them.i checked the settings on the cpu and so far they look fine. before i go out buying a new mobo or other. i would like to know what anyone might think the problem could be. thanx.

P.S. this is the second combo cpu mobo i got. first one went flawless even in a refabbed 7360 compaq case .

 

Most boot loop problems are caused by corrupted system files, and a repair installtion would probably have fixed this. As for the BIOS issue, there should be a setting to restore failsafe minimum settings ( or something along this line ), find this, check it, save and exit.

I just worked on a system for a friend with a boot loop problem, and the repair installation procedure fixed it.

 

It sounds like its getting to a faulty peice of hardware and rebooting for safety,or one of the mobo drivers you installed is incompatible,try unplugging all of your expansion cards,especially modems and try repairing the win install.
