I bought this computer online recently, it arrived yesterday and i hooked everything up, however when i turned it on it lasted about 5 seconds then turned off, i talked to the company i bought it from and they think the powersupply is faulty and are sending me a new one.

The tech support guy didnt seem like he knew much about computers and i was wondering if the powersupply could be to weak for the computer, any ideas?

It really depends on the amps that the PS puts out. But still, the PC should have at least turned on and booted to Windows. If I were you, I'd really investigate the warranty for your PC. It sounds like whoever built/sold this PC is a bit shady. We have to be VERY careful with online purchases. I don't want to sound like an a-hole here, but would you buy a car without test driving it? Would you buy a house without a walk-thru? Would you buy a hamster without holding it? Would you buy a suit without trying it on? Would you marry a woman without dating her for awhile? Sorry, I'm getting bitter and starting to ramble... again, I apologize (but you get the point, right? ;) ).

IBUYPOWER.com was where i ordered it from, actually i just had the sales manager Mark call me and inquire about it. I was told a replacement powersupply was on the way, and that it will arrive in three days.

I did upon reciving the computer, made sure everything was there and plugged in properly. I just wasnt sure if i was putting a little bit to much strain on the powersupply.
