New computer setup running slow? Help please

    Hi
    I have been upgrading my computer but it seems to be running slower than i had hoped for. For example if i have rome2 running, opening other programs seem to be slow at opening..Any ideas?
    Here is the setup.
    Motherboard: GA-990FXA-UD3
    Cpu: Amd fx8350
    12gb of ddr3 1333 memory
    R7 260x graphics card
    120 ssd
    1tb wd black
    coolmater 500 psu

    Sorry, I don't get here as often as I would like.
    Your description is fairly generic, to check your speed you need to run some tests and compare against similar systems.
    What do you want to speed up, games or office applications or movies?
    I assume your SSD is your boot drive. Anything you want to load fast needs to be on the SSD, but like me you are space limited.

    Make sure to minimize any program that automatically starts up when you turn on the computer. Only let the anti-virus and essential drivers start up. Anything else, like instant messengers, etc., make sure they're deactivated.
